Kaitlyn Bunker, Ph.D., P.E.
Engineer. Leader. Advocate for clean energy access worldwide.
About
I'm a Principal at Rocky Mountain Institute, where I lead the Climate Finance Access Network (CFAN), working to increase climate finance access in small island states in the Pacific and Caribbean. Previously, I directed RMI's Islands Energy Program, helping Caribbean island nations transition from diesel to clean, distributed renewable energy.
I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, where my research focused on microgrids and optimizing control strategies for distributed renewable resources. I'm a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado and a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
I serve on the Board of Directors for the Society of Women Engineers, where I've been a member for nearly 20 years. I'm passionate about advancing women in engineering and mentoring the next generation of technical leaders.
